Battery-powered was the detail that sold me since I don't have an outlet near my shelf, and the remote makes it easy to dim at night. The LED backlight really makes the paper layers pop in the dark.
The layered paper cutouts have way more depth than I expected from the photos, and the LED backlight makes the whole scene glow without washing out the details. The remote is handy for dimming it at night.
